Greening your business

Groundwork offers free support to businesses who wish to become more environmentally efficient in using resources.  Whether in using less packaging, making less waste, recycling more, using less gas, electricity or water, using less private transport or finding local suppliers. 

Groundwork also offers a free site visit from an expert environmental adviser to businesses with more than 20 employees, who will identify priority actions and calculate the costs and savings of each.  For smaller businesses, or those who want less intensive support, informal meetings and visits are offered to help you start monitoring resource use, discuss your ideas and do research on your behalf on improving resource efficiency.

Taxation

The Inland Revenue's Business Support Team helps new or small businesses and employers cope with tax and national insurance obligations. Business Advisers offer 1 to 1 visits at business premises and deliver a range of workshops. Call 020 7667 4825.

The Wandsworth and Merton Law centre offers free legal advice to small businesses on areas such as Tax, VAT, employement, contracts, pensions and leases if you are within the first two years of operating. The work is done by volunteer lawyers, who may not be able to advise immediately, and a means test will be carried out.  Call 020 8767 2777 for more details.
